Power management system in the past had little concern. The major concerns for the VLSI designers were area, performance and cost. As the trend for low power has emerged in the world of electronics, power management /dissipation has become more important consideration along with performance and shrinking technology with increased complexity. The motivation for reducing power consumption differ application to application .Here in our research we are presenting the
survey for low power VLSI trends and also looking out for methodologies for high performance computing oriented systems
till date. The idea of dynamic voltage scaling which was diminished fro few years .has taken back its position in power
management system. Also, the HSA (Heterogeneous System Architecture) foundation identification for this cause is noted.
