This has induced emergence of the concept of services offered through maintenance platforms, in from of autonomic or integrated systems where knowledge management is vital to any operation. Or we are forced to conclude that the notion of knowledge is very vague, as it depends on the industrial context in which it applies. The first part of this study investigates the different types of existing industrial maintenance platforms and characterizes them according to two criteria namely: information exchange and relationship intensity. This allowed identifying the s-maintenance architecture as the current most efficient architecture. Therefore, the second part of this study shows the effectiveness of the capitalization of knowledge in the field of maintenance. Then we propose an approach to build a knowledge base based on ontology.}, }
