Abstract: This study is based on 80 dictionaries of library and information science published in India covering the period from 1960 to 2022. It describes the meaning, importance, objectives, scope, data sources, methodology, conclusion, etc. This study investigated the author, subject, publisher, place, year, and volume wise patterns of LIS dictionaries. The study reveals that, among 80 published dictionaries, CSTT emerges as the most productive author with 7 contributions, the Ess Ess publication house appears as the top publisher, and New Delhi is a prominent place for publication. It also reveals a steady increase in the publication of dictionaries in the field of LIS after the 1980s. The study identified various critical issues that need to be addressed, such as a lack of uniformity in vocabulary compilation, the need for a mobile app for library and information science dictionaries, and the compilation of more polyglot dictionaries in Indian vernacular languages.
