Frequency Study in the Cable Television Systems and Terrestrial Television Systems

Abstract: The cable television systems and the digital switchover in the terrestrial television systems have similarities with respect to frequencies. Even they are not depending each other; in reality the cable television signals normally disturb the signals of the air frequency bands. We in this paper intend to find the shielding effectiveness of various cables and taps. In evaluation we tried to find how the measured results change in the case of broken cables, damaged multi-taps and not properly secured closings using the specifications and directions of the 50083-2 EMC standard as a guideline.
