Personalization and Ontology Building in Digital Libraries

Abstract: In the last two decades, the digital library has emerged as a major platform for learning and information access. The important elements in the digital library includes the collaboration and the social elements. Academic Libraries are the important reflection of the developments in digital library and offer numerous benefits that help the universities. The use of digital library has leads to the deployment of information system and these digital libraries serve as the important forum for study and research. Digital libraries if confine the search to a simple one, then the users may not satisfy with the services of digital libraries. The digital libraries now become major passive and not much structured for which ontologies play an important role. Personalization can help to build more user oriented systems and it will help to improve the user satisfaction.
